Care & Maintenance

Never put the straw in the dishwasher. The heat and detergent will permanently damage the filter media.

Backwash when flow slows down. After extended use, run clean water backwards through the straw (from mouthpiece to intake) for 10–15 seconds to flush trapped sediment. Flow rate returning to normal means it worked.

Don't force flow through a clogged straw. If backwashing doesn't restore flow, the filter has reached the end of its life — replace it rather than pushing harder.

Never use hot water, soap, bleach, or chemical cleaners. Cold clean water only.

Dry it before storing. After backwashing, blow out remaining water and let it air-dry with the caps off. Sealing a damp straw invites mold and odor.

Protect it from freezing. If water inside the straw freezes, it can crack the internal structure and compromise filtration — and damage isn't visible from the outside. Keep it in an inside pocket in cold conditions.

Store with caps on in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of our products for a one year period from the date of purchase. Warranty does not cover damage due to use, misuse or abuse of products. It also does not cover damage from use other than specified in the product brochure (included with each product). Due to potential exposure to protozoa, bacteria and viruses, ÖKO reserves the right to refuse handling of used products.
